Märtha Lagercrantz is a specialist in family medicine and works at Sophiahemmet Primary Care Clinic. Since October 2025 she is also a PhD student at Sophiahemmet University. In primary care, Märtha meets patients with a broad range of symptoms and conditions, including people with type 2 diabetes—a condition in which she has a particular interest. Through her research, Märtha aims to contribute to improving care for people with type 2 diabetes and to help advance the field.
Person-centred care with periodic continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and AI technology for type 2 diabetes in primary care.
The overall aim of the project is to investigate whether CGM combined with AI analysis can make it easier for people with type 2 diabetes to understand their own diabetes and the factors that influence blood glucose, improve communication and shared decision-making in the patient–clinician encounter, and contribute to better glycaemic control and improved well-being.
