Caroline Löfvenmark

Caroline Löfvenmark works as a senior lecturer at Sophiahemmet University and is involved as a lecturer in the specialist nursing program with a focus on cardiac care. She also serves as Deputy Head of the Department of Health Promotion Science.

Caroline Löfvenmark has been a registered nurse since 2001 and defended her thesis in Medical Science at Karolinska Institute in 2011 with the dissertation “Living with Heart Failure: Effects of an Educational Program for Patients and Family Members.”

The overall aim of the dissertation was to achieve an understanding of the effects of a group-based multi-professional educational program for family members of patients with chronic heart failure and to investigate social network, social support and perceived loneliness in patients with chronic heart failure. The goal of Caroline’s research is to increase understanding of what it means to be a relative of a person living with heart failure.

Ongoing project

Caroline Löfvenmark participates in a project examining the effects of a digital yoga program for individuals with symptomatic paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. This is an international study in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen. The overall aim is to evaluate whether a digital yoga program can improve health-related quality of life and reduce blood pressure and heart rate in individuals with symptomatic paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. Project leader is Maria Wahlström.
